NEW CHEF WANNABES GRADUATED AT GERARDO’S

NEW GRADUATES. The new graduates pose for posterity after the graduation ceremony held at the Phela Grande Convention Center, National Highway, Gen. Santos City last October 13, 2009.

Ninety Seven students from PGS Culinary Batches 2, 3 and 4 and Baking and Pastry Production Batch 2 graduated last October 13, 2009 at the Phela Grande Convention Center.

The elaborate graduation ceremony was attended by TESDA Regional Director Zeus P. Ampuyas who was the guest of honor and delivered a very inspiring message to the graduates.

In his speech, Dir. Ampuyas, who hails from Glan, Sarangani Province, said that he too is a graduate of a vocational technical school based in Glan. He said that by working very hard, he was able to overcome difficulties and obstacles in life and became what he is today, the TESDA Regional Director of Region 12. He urged everyone to follow his example and he said that it is only through dedication and determination that one will succeed.

TESDA Provincial Director Leonora A. Guiloreza, on the other hand, lauded Gerardo’s for giving the graduates a high quality education and training. “At first, I was wondering why every time an applicant goes into my office to inquire about PGS scholarship program, they always asked to be enrolled at Gerardo’s if they want Commercial Cooking or baking and pastry production”, she said. “Now I know”

Director Guiloreza cited Gerardo’s perfect record in the National Certificate II exams for both commercial cooking and baking and pastry production. She added that “this is the reason why employers would prefer a graduate of Gerardo’s.”
